Pod of the Aura
Toba Centre aims to provide space and community for children and families that have been impacted by abuse or violence. There are many resources that help victims heal from such trauma… And having a community is certainly one of them.
Belugas are known to be extremely social animals and live in pods. They stick together. By living in a group they can communicate with one another, help guide each other, protect each other from predators or pick up slack when one of the pod members needs extra healing. Their community is crucial for their survival in harsh environments, and isn’t that true for humans too. Toba Center provides that pod mentality and family when our most vulnerable need it most.

Doug and I believe in the vision, objective, and passion of all those involved with Toba Centre. Providing a space where children and families can find comfort, healing, and access to the resources they need when they’ve been impacted by abuse or witnessed violence is critical in our province. We believe it is the responsibility of our community to support these children during extremely difficult times.”

Cows run away from the storm while the buffalo charges toward it – and gets through it quicker. Whenever I’m confronted with a tough challenge, I do not prolong the torment, I become the buffalo.
